Intermed Gastroenterology Department:
The Intermed Gastroenterology Department examines diseases of the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), and rectal area, as well as liver diseases, gallbladder and bile duct diseases, pancreatic diseases, and abdominal wall conditions. In other words, it provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for all abdominal organs except the kidneys.

Diagnosis is performed using endoscopes, commonly referred to as "hoses" in everyday language, which are instruments ranging from 100 to 160 cm in length and are inserted either orally or rectally.

2. Anal Biofeedback:
Biofeedback is an exercise training method used to learn and control body functions. It is an effective method in treating conditions such as constipation and fecal incontinence. Anal biofeedback improves the function of anal sphincter muscles and enhances patients' quality of life.

3. Anorectal Manometry:
This test measures anal sphincter tone and defecation reflex. During the procedure, a small catheter is placed in the rectum, and anal sphincter muscle pressures are measured through various maneuvers. The test is used to evaluate conditions related to defecation issues, constipation, and fecal incontinence.

4. Gastroscopy:
Gastroscopy is an endoscopic procedure that examines the interior of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum using a flexible instrument with a camera and light. It allows direct visualization of inflammation, bleeding, and other abnormalities, and enables biopsy or removal of polyps.

5. Colonoscopy:
Colonoscopy involves visual inspection of the large intestine with a video camera. This test is useful in diagnosing colon cancer, polyps, and bleeding. Polyps can be removed, and biopsies can be performed.

6. Esophageal Manometry:
This test evaluates the motor function of the esophagus and the lower esophageal sphincter. It is used for patients with swallowing difficulties, chest pain, and reflux symptoms. Esophageal manometry analyzes esophageal motor functions.

7. 24-Hour Esophageal pH Monitoring:
This test confirms gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and assesses its severity. A catheter is passed through the nose and placed in the stomach, while the patient continues normal activities. The device records reflux events throughout the day.

These tests are essential tools in diagnosing and treating digestive system diseases, providing various information and treatment options to enhance patients' quality of life.
